About The RGV News
The RGV News is an independent news aggregator for Texas's Rio Grande Valley. We bring the day's most important local headlines into one fast, easy-to-scan place — so you can stay caught up on what's happening across McAllen, Edinburg, Mission, Brownsville, Harlingen, Pharr, Weslaco and Starr County without hopping between a dozen sites.
What we do
Throughout the day we gather headlines from trusted local newsrooms and public news feeds. For each story we show the headline, a short summary, and the name of the original source — and then we link you straight to that source to read the full article. We're a front door to the Valley's journalism, not a replacement for it.
What we don't do
We do not republish full articles, and we don't claim ownership of any reporting. Every headline, summary and image belongs to the publisher that produced it, and clicking through always takes you to their site. If you're a publisher and you'd prefer a link be removed, just let us know and we'll take care of it promptly.
The Week in Review
Once a week we publish the RGV Week in Review — a quick recap of the Valley's biggest moments, with a deliberately positive lean toward the wins, milestones and good news happening in our community (while still flagging the major stories you need to know).
Who's behind it
The RGV News is a locally owned, independent project built by and for people who care about the Rio Grande Valley. We are not affiliated with, owned by, or endorsed by any of the news organizations we link to. Spot an error or have a story tip? We'd love to hear from you on our contact page.
